Did you know that elephants and manatees are close relatives? Close in evolutionary timelines. They both have toenails on their flippers and feet, their noses and lips are prehensile (meaning the sides move independently and the animals use them for foraging), and they both have similar thick skin.
The leaves on the elephant in this image are Taro plants, or common name elephant ears. They do make a good substitution for real elephant ears.
