Deer and Rose Woodcut

I live in Ithaca NY and deer are having a dramatic effect on our forests. They eat all the understory, so trees don't have a chance to grow. The multiflora roses are also a major problem. A walk in the woods could turn into a walk into a large thorny patch.

The background of this piece features Cornell University. I drew it from the hill that I live on, printed it and only realized on layer 2 or 3 that I didn't reverse the image before drawing it on the block! Whoops! "Llenroc" is "Cornell" spelled backwards, and also the name of a famous house on Cornell's campus.
