Cardinals are a beloved bird species. They are a state bird in a whopping 7 states! I think part of their charm is they usually don't migrate far, so the birds you see in your yard one day are most likely the same birds you will see for many years. Hence the title of this woodcut, "Resident Cardinals."
Our yard is a great habitat for birds, we have many downed trees and a barn with nooks and crannies. We don't use any pesticides so there are many bugs to munch on in our yard and we have a swamp, a stand of old pines, and many bushes for the birdies to make their homes.
