RIGHT WHALE BREACH
There are three right whale populations, the North Atlantic right whales (which are criticially endangered) the North Pacific right whales (which may be more endangered than the North Atlantic) and the Southern right whales (which are happy, fat, and well populated.) Some theories about why the northern population is small include entanglement in fishing nets, ship to whale collisions, and loss of habitat. The edition of 97 corresponds to the number of North Atlantic calving females left in our oceans. Hopefully, by the time I print out 97 whales, there will be double the number of calving females and I can make a new edition.
