MACKEREL CART
I spent a month at St. Michael's Printshop in St. John's, Newfoundland. I made a series of images about Newfoundland dogs. The fishing industry in Newfoundland unfortunately is fairly grim. People who use to make a living as a fisher, are unable because there are so few fish in the sea. And, there has been a moratorium on cod fishing for ten years. 2006 was the first year you could catch a cod and keep it. Cod used to be the mainstay of Newfoundland fishers.
