Komodo Dragons were discovered in 1910. What a surprise to find a 220 pound monitor lizard living on a small tropical island. How did they get to be so large? Pygmy elephant bones were found on the island of Flores, which is one of the dragons' main stomping grounds. The dragons may have grown, and grown, and grown, til they could easily eat up the elephants that resided alongside them. If only those smart pachyderms could have learned to use their little legs for climbing, maybe they would have survived. color-reduction woodcut image size 13” x 17” $500 unframed « click here to buy this dragon woodcut» |
