Javan Rhinos are native to the island of Java and a few other places close to the Indonesian archipelago. They are very much in peril, their small population is even in dispute, there may be as few as 30 or as many as 60. I am an optimist, so, I made an edition of 60 to correspond with their population. A few known threats to the rhino include an invasive palm known as the Langkap Palm which takes over lowland areas where the rhino feeds, and the looming Mt. Krakotoa which last errupted in 1883 devestating the entire pennisula.
