Corn is food...but some "food" you may not realize is "corn." (common ingredients that are derived from maize are maltodextrin, dextrose, mono- and di-glycerides, sorbitol, MSG, xanthan gum, and of course the lovely corn syrup, and high fructose corn syrup) and now biofuels.
There is much debate about biofuels and if they are sustainable. This image portrays a scene where trucks have to transport their own corn for fuel to get around. I highly recommend Michael Pollan's "The Omnivore's Dilemma" if you are interested in corn production, processed foods, and ecologically minded farming/farmers.

this corny piece is almost sold out, just one left of the edition.
