The Cushion and the Diprotodon
the diprotodon was an ancient marsupial related to the present day wombat. I made this image after trekking through the walls of jereselum national park in tasmania. I was introduced to the cushion plant, which I thought at first was a bright green boulder and later found out was a very fragile plant. I liked the metaphor of covering an extinct animal with a fragile plant.
